Dedicated weekly sectionals are led by our experienced Music Director, assistant conductor, and seasoned senior players, providing personalized guidance essential for unlocking each musician's full potential.

  • Since 14th February, 2003

    Our beginnings
    Today comprising around 30 members with ages from ~11 to ~21 years (high school age and up), the United Youth Orchestra (UYO) was formed on 14th February, 2003.

  • 2005, 2009 and in 2013

    New Plymouth
    We travelled to New Plymouth in 2005, 2009, and 2013 where we put on a joint concert with the TYO.

  • 2006, 2010, and 2012

    Te Puke (Bay of Plenty)
    We went to Te Puke (Bay of Plenty) in 2006, 2010, and 2012 where we put on joint concerts with the TYO.

  • 19-20th September 2009

    New Plymouth
    We travelled to New Plymouth 19-20th September 2009 to take part in a joint concert with the Taranaki Youth Orchestra (TYO).

  • 2014, 2017 and 2018

    Cambridge St Andrews Church
    We had a public concert at Cambridge St Andrews Church

  • 2014–2019

    Retirement home, Hamilton
    We put on a joint concert with the TYO.

    We had the joint concert with Taranaki Youth Orchestra (TYO) at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts Centre, University of Waikato, Hamilton.

Board I: The Formative Years (2003–2014)

Commemorates Founding Conductor Yoshiki Tatsumi and the first generation of UYO leaders. Archived as the orchestra's foundational record.

Board II: Continuing Legacy (2015–Present)

Annually engraved and entrusted to the incumbent leader after the last rehearsal.
