Discover your potential
Inspiring musical growth, vibrant community, and unforgettable performances.
DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL
The United Youth Orchestra welcomes talented young musicians and seasoned adult players to join our vibrant musical community. Each year, we gracefully farewell our graduating senior members as they embark on their university journeys, always needing new talent to continue our legacy and write the next exciting chapter of UYO. Explore opportunities for growth, collaboration, and memorable performances across Waikato.
OUR MUSICIANS
UYO primarily nurtures young musicians aged approximately 11-21 years old. We are flexible and encourage talented younger players to connect with us.
Additionally, experienced adult players are welcome to join us as valued guest musicians, enriching our sound and sharing the joy of classical music with our youth.
We welcome a full range of orchestral instruments, including: Strings, Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion. Visit our Home page / Instruments section for a visual guide.
While ideally Grade 5 (ABRSM equivalent) or above is helpful, it is not strictly mandatory. We value passion and potential. Sight-reading ability is required.
