THE PROGRAMME FORMAT

The Experience

This is a focused, three-day intensive program, designed to lock in essential ensemble skills before the school break.

Format
Structured in flexible half-day blocks.
Coaching
Dedicated time each day for sectionals, chamber rehearsals, and solo polishing.
Ensemble
The programme commences once the minimum ensemble size is confirmed, ensuring a high-quality collaborative experience for all participants.
Finale concert
A high-profile public performance at a major venue (such as The Base or City Centre Mall), showcasing dedication and creating memorable community interaction.

INSTRUMENTATION & VENUE

Collaboration & Setting

The specific schedule for Term 1 or Term 2 is currently under review to best align with our tutors and participants. Final holiday dates will be confirmed and announced as soon as possible.

Core Ensemble
We prioritise an agile, collaborative environment, primarily built around string sections (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass) and keyboard continuo.
Expansion
Windswood, brass, and other instrumentalists are warmly welcome to enquire; the ensemble mix will be expanded based on expressions of interest.
Venue
Fairfield Intermediate, Hamilton (to be confirmed).

This intensive is the perfect stage for players unable to commit to our weekly rehearsals, or those seeking a focused introduction to the UYO experience. We welcome dedicated young players who meet the following essential criteria:

  • Age 8+
  • Minimum of 2 years of playing experience.
  • Comfortable with confident sight-reading skills.
  • Keen interest in solo and ensemble performance opportunities.
